Assessments and Recommendations
YBL Behaviour Support provides insights that empower individuals to overcome challenges and live the best life. Our Assessments and Recommendations service forms the foundation for effective behaviour support strategies tailored to each person’s unique needs.
Through a comprehensive functional assessment we identify environmental factors that may trigger and maintain the behaviours of concern. These assessments provide the clarity needed to develop strategies that inspire meaningful, lasting change.

Our Functional Behaviour Assessments
Functional Behaviour Assessments encompass a combination of direct and indirect measures when assessing behaviours of concern. Indirect measures include a functional assessment interview with one or more stakeholders (support people) to identify main areas of concern. Indirect measures also include rating scales and checklists.
Direct measures include observations and direct interactions with the client in their environment. Identifying their strengths and needs. Direct measures also helps practitioners assess the environment that the individual is interacting with that may trigger or maintain behaviours of concern.
The Assessments and Recommendations process is not only about identifying areas of need but also about highlighting strengths. By focusing on an individual’s abilities and potential, our recommendations aim to empower participants and their families, offering recommendations to support further applications or plan reviews.
We have a variety of psychological tests that include the following:

Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)
Our team administers the ADOS-2 to assess autism spectrum disorders, providing a detailed report that supports formal diagnoses by a psychiatrist.
